The indexing approach to the first seven books in the Rice Family Book Project will help generate a self-perpetuating data base on all United States branches of the Rice family.

Wherever possible, all Rices mentioned in the book text are indexed in the Rice index as a data entry. This means that for most of the Rices covered there is at least one date and place reference in the index listing. In many cases, there is also a reference to the previous generation.

These Rice indices for the first seven books will be combined into one master index, then placed on-line, where Rice family researchers can continue to add entries. Book eight will be a printed version of this data base.

You can get a head start on getting your ancestors into this data base by submitting your Rice family data for inclusion in one of the later books.
